All monthly members get 24/7 access and use of the common spaces, with exception to classes and workshops. Refer to the calendar for events before coming in, call 207-616-0400, or text 207-446-0132. Pottery wheels are first come, first serve. Space includes large tables for hand-building, electric wheels, slab rollers, and other equipment, as well as kiln firings.

Each member has access to a 18”x 48” dedicated metal shelf for project storage.
One Shimpo Whisper pottery wheel, one Pacifica wheel, 4 SpeedBall pottery wheels, one slab roller, one Bailey extruder, and other tools available for member use.
Laguna #65 white stoneware; Laguna buff speckled clay will be available in the near future. Both are versatile for throwing or hand-building.*
Members are welcome to use our commercial glazes, such as Amaco, Mayco, Speedball, Spectrum, and others.*
Batch kiln firings during dedicated times.*
Members are eligible for a $20.00 discount on multi-week sessions and one-time public workshops.
*All clay must be purchased directly from the studio. If members choose to use supplies other than what we provide, please consult Elmhurst Pottery Staff (EPS) before use. Members must prove proficiency in the equipment prior to 24/7 access. Membership includes kiln firings for typical projects approved by EPS staff; members may rent kilns for production bisque or glaze firings.

Elmhurst Pottery Studio is a community studio. Membership is open to adults 18 and older. To ensure that everyone works well both in the space and with one another, all potential members must demonstrate proficiency in the equipment, and must receive a tutorial from a staff member to use the slab roller and extruder. Guests of members may come in only during open studio hours, and must be 10 and older. No guest may be left unattended by the member at any time.
