Current Events & Workshops

Ceramics Paint Night - Adults 18+

Join us for a ceramic paint night! Pick from our pre-made pieces, paint them however you like, and we'll fire them for you. We'll let you know as soon as they're ready for pickup!

Price: $32
Dates: Friday, August 8, 2025 
Time: 5:30pm—7:30pm
Instructor: Rose Crossman
Student Level: Beginner

Unleash your creativity with our Ceramic Paint Night, designed exclusively for adults. Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere while painting your own ceramic masterpiece, perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike. This fun social experience is a great way to unwind and connect with others in a creative setting. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination!

Kids' Clay Camp

Be creative during summer break by learning about pottery!

Price: $160
Dates: August 11th - 14th. 2025; 8:30-11:30am for 8-12 year olds; 1:00-4:00pm for 13-17 year olds

Kids Clay Camp offers a unique hands-on experience where children can explore their creativity through fun and engaging clay projects. Participants will learn various techniques while crafting their own masterpieces in a supportive and imaginative environment. Perfect for young artists, this camp combines creative learning with hours of artistic fun!

4 Week Wheel Throwing Class

Learn about the characteristics of clay and the basics of wheel throwing, including centering and learning to throw simple forms, as well as surface decoration techniques and glazing.

Price: $175
Dates: Class 1 on Tuesdays start August 12th, Class 2 on Thursdays starts August 14th
Time: 5:30pm—7:30pm
Instructor: Brianne Shea
Student Level: Beginner
Supplies needed: • Notebook and pen/pencil

Learn about the characteristics of clay and the basics of wheel throwing, including wedging, centering, and pulling clay on the wheel; achieve at least 1 workable cylinder; trimming with different styles and tools; pulling and attaching handles, knobs, decorations. scoring and slipping; learn about bisqueware, adding color and glazing. 
1-2 weeks after classes end, students will be contacted when pieces are ready for pick up.
About the Instructor: ​Bri is an alumni of Maine College of Art and Design specializing in wheel throwing. Her work is heavily influenced by a lifelong passion for nature photography.

Let's Build a Mug with Rose

Learn how to hand-build your very own mug to keep yourself or as gifts! By the end of this 2-day session, you will produce a lovely dishwasher- microwave-safe mug.

Price: $65 
Dates: NEW SESSION! Saturday, August 16th and Saturday, September 6th, 4pm - 6pm
 SOLD OUT Monday, August 18th and Monday, September 8th, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Instructor: Rose Crossman
Student Levelany, no prior experience needed • Maximum students: 10
Supplies needed: • Notebook and pen/pencil

Day 1: Rose will be right there every step of the way to help guide you create your unique and functional art piece using texturing from a myriad of texturing devices.
Day 2: Learn about glazing your mug and the different types of glaze; Rose will be there to help with choosing the one right for you! 
1-2 weeks after the second class, you will be contacted to come and pick up your finished mug.

Ceramics Paint Night - Family Time

Looking for a fun family activity? Create lasting memories and beautiful masterpieces together at our studio! Bring the whole family for a creative session where everyone gets to choose a unique ceramic piece to glaze.

Our premade ceramic items can be decorative or functional, so you can make something beautiful to display or a new favorite mug to use every day! It's the perfect way to spend quality time together and take home a one-of-a-kind treasure.

Create a Witch's Hat with Candle!

Let's get spooky: create a Witch's Hat to spice up your Halloween with a magical glow!

Dates: Monday, August 25, 2025, and Monday, September 15, 2025

Student Level: Beginner, 13+ (under 18 must have participating parent or guardian)

Unleash your creativity as you craft a unique and decorative witch's hat, perfect for the season. This fun and engaging activity is ideal for adding a personal touch to your Halloween decor, with options to incorporate a candle for an extra spooky vibe!

Cancellations require a 48 hounotice for a full refund less $10 • No refund for cancellations less than 48 hours before class; we cannot offer credit for future classes for cancellations.
Elmhurst Pottery Studio Cancellations: Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled at least two days prior to the start of class; registrants will receive a full refund.
