Elmhurst Pottery Studio is all about bringing people together to share the simple joy of pottery. We provide a friendly, encouraging space for everyone, no matter their skill level, to explore creativity and discover the satisfaction of making functional art with their own hands.
My approach here is built around nurturing your individual vision. Our workshops are shared creative times. I'll guide you through the fundamentals, of course, but the real fun begins when we encourage your inner voice and personality to take shape in the clay. It’s wonderful seeing unique styles emerge in the beautiful, functional pieces everyone creates – pieces that truly reflect you, rather than a set template.
I see sharing this craft as a joyful exchange. It’s about more than just learning pottery techniques; it’s about the connection we build, the discoveries we make together, and the simple magic of creating side-by-side. I find genuine inspiration in your creative journeys and truly value the friendships that often grow from our time in the studio. I look forward to sharing this meditative process with you.
Through her relaxed method of instruction and providing a nonjudgmental, easygoing environment, she helps you find that special spark to imbue into your functional art. It’s her mission to show others that anyone can create art without prior experience, and that it’s okay to leave the beaten path and explore.

This was so much fun. Patient and kind instructor. [Rose] takes time to show you how to do things, one to one as needed. Instructions were given in advance and clear. There was plenty of time for questions.
[Rose] is an excellent teacher. She explains things clearly while also encouraging each student to have fun & unleash their creativity. I look forward to taking many more classes with her!
